My image for Flann's Advent Calender project, which was an invitation-only art projet for 24 artists to draw images based on winter/christmas to be made into an advent calender.
I'm upset that mine is sort of messy and "speed-paint" style, but I had such a good time with it, and as most of you know I don't do this sort of thing often. My favorite part is the "dead" wood on the left, and I wish I ould have continued that throughout but it was too dark and scary for Christmas. So I made two extremes; dark forest and beautiful lighted Christmas tree. Of course we can't forget the cute little Samoyed looking at the lights
Ohh, very nice. *grins* Love the little Samoyed. Very cute. And the contrast is very interesting. I would have made the lights on the tree a bit brighter, but heck, this is gorgeous anyway. Good job. =3
But I'm in love with the speedpaint style! It adds something. I don't have the words to describe what, exactly, but it wouldn't be the same piece if you had used a different style.
Gorgeous work.

Like your canines, your trees are absolutely stunning. Not just how theyre textured but also the different shades of darkness and the way the snow rests on the branches. Nice contrast between the dark forest, the light forest and the lighted tree. Also, I love the use of the Samoyed. I dont usually see that breed in drawings.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
