Well, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin was an anime made in the 80's about a dog named Gin, and yea, Ginga Densetsu Weed is a new anime about a dog named Weed, who is Gin's son ^_^
And thanks! Benizakura is based off of Tosa dog, I believe :3

Mmmm the original is Ginga Densetsu Riki, and that's just a manga. Nagareboshi Gin is a manga and an 80's anime. Densetsu Weed is also a manga+anime, and is the most recent :D

Ginga Nagareboshi Gin is the original.
I don't remember which one is most recent,ginga densetsu Riki or Ginga Densetsu Weed but GNG is the original.
